If your child/young person has an EHCP, there are a couple of referral routes depending on your agreement/how the funding options are managed. Some young people are sent directly from the school, and a lot of specialist SEN schools and provisions will offer this option. The mainstream schools will usually support the options for alternative provision, but may not allow extra-curricular sessions during school hours, depending again on the arrangement & level of EHCP and funding etc.
Our young people book in for visits either weekly, fortnightly, monthly or on an ad-hoc basis.
The youngsters spend their time at the site with one of our keepers on a 1:1 basis. (Some parents/guardians/teachers stay throughout).
We have a wide range of animals from reptiles, invertebrates, dogs, sheep, poultry, owls, miniature horses etc.
If you aren’t sure on your EHCP funding agreements, we can also put you in touch with a local organisation to help arrange the provisions for you and point in the right directions.
For private referrals, we also offer the sessions without necessarily the need for an EHCP or SENCO involvement.
We are proud also to work alongside NHS, councils, schools, SEN charities, youth centres/day centres, children’s homes, therapists, rehab centres, Julia’s House, Naomi hospice, SEN schools and many more.
